Increasing your donation through Gift Aid (UK taxpayers scheme)

Gift Aid Declaration - if you are paying UK income or capital gains tax, the museum is now able to reclaim the tax you have paid on any gift.

On 6th April 2000, the Inland Revenue rules about how charities can reclaim income tax changed. All claims are now dealt with under Gift Aid provisions, superseding the previous Deed of Covenant system.

Any momentary gift, large or small, regular or a one-off, can now qualify for Gift Aid. Charities can now reclaim (at 2001 tax rates), 28p for every £1 given by a taxpayer who receives a corresponding relief.

If you are paying UK income or capital gains tax and make a donation to the museum, filling in a gift aid form enables the museum to reclaim the tax you have paid on any gift. Contact the museum for further details.
