Holst The Planets

Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Choir

  John Wilson conductor

Since its premiere during the First World War, The Planets has become one of the all-time classics of British music – even making it to TV theme status! But if you’ve only heard the famous bits, you only know half the story. The Planets isn't just about great tunes like Jupiter and Mars; it's a tremendous musical odyssey towards the infinite, written for a super-size orchestra and filled with sounds of jaw-dropping strangeness and beauty.
