KITCHEN The kitchen was the centre of activity in any Victorian household.  The maid would have been up at 5 in the morning and on call until 11 o'clock at night with one day holiday a month!

 

SCULLERY The scullery, or back kitchen, was used for all dirty work, such as washing dishes, preparing vegetables, fish and game and cleaning boots and shoes.
