Theodor von Holst (1810-1844) was
the great-uncle of Gustav Holst. Born
in London he was trained at the Royal Academy.
He is increasingly recognized as a significant
link between the artists Blake and Fuseli and the
next wave of great British artists spearheaded by
the Pre-Raphaelites (Dante Gabriel Rossetti was
Holst’s greatest admirer). In this two hour practical
workshop pupils will work with an artist to create
responses to von Holst’s works which are part of
the permanent collection at the Holst Birthplace
Museum.
The workshop can be tailored to different
key stages
and individual needs if required.
A free
downloadable resource pack is available with all
bookings.
