Birth Certificate

Gustav Holst’s grandfather who was born in Riga, Latvia.

This free resource supplied on CD includes two different resources: 19th Century Cheltenham uses the Holst Museum and the Holst family as a case-study for local history; A Holst Family History Enquiry looks in greater depth at the Holst family as a case study for family history. Both 19th Century Cheltenham and A Holst Family History Enquiry include lesson plans, schemes of work, background information, images and a video incorporating music form Holst’s famous Planets suite. A visit to the Holst Birthplace Museum is encouraged as part of the resource.

Gustav Holst Loans Box for Hire
To complement this resource there is a Gustav Holst Research Box for hire, £15 for two weeks.

This is suitable for all Key Stages as it can be used to support any project focused on Gustav Holst. It includes books about Holst, CDS and facsimile documents such as birth certificates and wills.
